Best cherry fragrances: From cherry blossom to black cherry-based perfumes

Tom Ford has built on his love of cherry by adding not one but two new scents featuring the heady note to the brand’s fragrance offering. Lost Cherry has been a stalwart in the collection and is now joined by Cherry Smoke and our personal favourite, Electric Cherry.

The latter has a lively and energetic olfactory experience that is remniscient of morello cherry with a musk and jasmine base. Cherry Smoke is more sensual and deep where the traditionally sweet component is playing with fire with its osmanthus and smoke wood concocotion.

An amber scent by fragrance profile, but it’s the heady touch of black cherry that gives the Creed Carmina its sweet and fruity opener. The component is paired with saffron and pink pepper at the head before drying down to a heart of rose de mai, peony, violet and cashmere wood and a base of frankincense, myrrh, amber and musk.

The blend is full of contradictions; it’s spicy, floral and fruity but it works to create a bold, unmissable EDP and one that lasts. A few spritzes will see you through the entire evening, and on clothes, can last days.

Easily layered, it’s a delicate line-up but you will notice the wood base and violet infusion.
