Sesko's agent says 'ask Arteta about that' amid Arsenal transfer links

Benjamin Sesko's agent has stoked reports of Arsenal interest in the striker during the January transfer window.

Arsenal are on the hunt for a new striker following Gabriel Jesus's ACL injury, which is set to sideline him into next season.

Unsubstantiated reports emerged on Thursday that the Gunners were exploring a loan-to-buy deal for the RB Leipzig striker, though they were quickly shot down in both Germany and England.

Sesko has long been of interest to Arsenal, who remain admirers this month, and the player's agent, Elvis Basanovic, believes his client has the ability to help Arsenal.

Asked if Sesko could play for the Gunners, Basanovic told Arena Sport: "I think you should ask Mr. Arteta about that.

"But I think Sesko could suit many clubs because he has different football skills. He can play alone in attack, with two strikers, a little further back, he has height, speed, and technical speed.

"Benjamin Sesko is really shining, I think this is a phase of development. I think we have already shown in the past that we are sticking to the development path, that we are not looking at current form."

The Sporting striker, who was expected to follow Ruben Amorim to Manchester United, could now be heading to another Premier League side.

The Gunners’ desperation for a striker following Gabriel Jesus’s injury has prompted the club to accelerate their own interest in the Swede.

He won’t come cheap though due to his £84m release clause.

Brighton want Tosin

Brighton have expressed an interest in signing Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo.

That is according to Sky Sports, though it's unclear at this stage whether Chelsea would be prepared to let Tosin leave especially given their shortage of central defenders which has seen them recall Trevor Chalobah from his loan spell at Crystal Palace this week.

Brighton are understood to be assessing their defensive options after losing Igor for the rest of the season due to surgery on a hamstring injury.
